We are pleased to announce a call for applications for funded travel and accommodation to attend Vitalis 2026, the leading Nordic conference on eHealth and digital health innovation Vitalis | 4-7 Maj 2026 | Göteborg for doctoral students and early career researchers. This call is part of the network’s newly established Forum for Early Career Researchers, which aims to strengthen capacity building, research mentoring, visibility, and networking among emerging researchers in the field. We invite applications from PhD candidates and early career researchers (up to 5 years after dissertation) whose work aligns with digital health, health informatics, digital care services, or related fields, and who are members of our network. If you are not yet a member, please apply to become a member by contacting us at info@digitalcareresearch.se. It is free of charge.
How to Apply to the Call
To be considered for funding, applicants must submit one of the following:
- An abstract already submitted to Vitalis 2026
Please include the title, authors, and the abstract text in your application. As well as length of presentation (full 25 min or short 7 min).
OR
- A new abstract
If you have not yet submitted an abstract to Vitalis, you may instead submit a new abstract directly to us for evaluation.
Application Content
- Name, affiliation, and contact information
- Short description of your research area
- The abstract (either the one submitted to Vitalis 2026 or a new one following the guidelines for Vitalis)
- A brief motivation (max 200 words) describing why attending Vitalis would support your research or career development and your expectations of the network (how could the network support you).
Funding Details
The funding covers:
- Round-trip travel within Sweden
- Accommodation during the conference dates
For accepted abstracts, the conference fee will be waived.
Deadline
Please submit your application by 20th of February 2026.
Applicants will be notified of the decision by 9th of Mars 2026.
